Students entering 4th grade have been working on skills 1-5 in grades K-3. We will continue to stress the importance of using those skills daily. In 4th grade we focus in on the 2nd 5 skills. We do a lot of partner and group work so appropriate social skills and cooperation are very important. We also want students to understand the importance for having rules in the classroom, at home, and as a member of society, and be able to follow them. There is a lot of learning going on in 4B. It is imperative that students learn how to start a task and take the steps to complete it so that they can be independent workers. Leadership qualities and effective communication are essential to the rights and responsibilities expected of members of our society. The last skills are learned from grades 8-High School. They are, however prompted and discussed in some way in grades K-8.
